Des jeunes gens mödernes is the first documentary about the post-punk / cold wave world that shook the French underground from the late 70's to the early 80's. In continuation of the collective exhibition at the Galerie du Jour agnès b. in 2008, Jean-François Sanz gathers for this film an exceptional material that uncover thirty interviews of the main actors of this scene and more than 350 archives, a whole section of French pop-cultural heritage still relatively unknown.
Biography and Filmography
Jean-François Sanz joined agnès b. in 2001 to support cultural patronage of the brand, then became the program director of the Art & Culture of Endowment funds agnès b. created in 2009. He developed various curatorial and editorial projects through thematic group exhibitions ("Draw!" in 2005, "Des jeunes gens mödernes" in 2008 ...) and various monographic exhibitions. Fascinated by the underground, pop culture and design, Des jeunes gens mödernes is his second film after Futur antérieur (2002), a documentary about retro-futurism.
