Official synopsis

Alassane, a thirty-year-old Franco-Senegalese man, lives alone with his nine-year-old son, Yanis, in a seedy studio on the outskirts of Bordeaux. Alassane is jobless does his best to maintain a balance. The day the judge for juveniles decides to place Yanis with a foster family, the young man risks everything to stay with his son.

The programmer’s eye

An actor and a director, Daouda Diakhaté subtly plays a father who’s unable to raise his son and who struggles with a judge (French actress Romane Bohringer). The staging is imbued with the melancholy of a country the character never lived in. This troubled filiation questions the place of an uprooted child, who’s now a father, with great modesty and tenderness.
