Biography and Filmography

Born in Limoges in 1987, Quentin Papapietro grew up in Royan and began directing thanks to the cinema program at Merleau Ponty High School in Rochefort. A student in Bordeaux and then in Toulouse, he graduated with a Master's degree in Film Directing from ENSAV in 2011.

A prolific filmmaker, he has directed around fifteen short films. He is also the author of two feature films showcased at numerous festivals such as FIDMarseille and IndieLisboa: Water Music (2014) and En Fumée (2018). His films were the subject of a selective presentation at the Cinémathèque Française in 2019.

40 A, Service Pierrick was acquired by Canal+ in 2022, and Saintonge Giratoire, his first documentary, was presented at Cinéma du Réel 2023. It was released in theaters on July 5, 2023, as a pre-program to Marinaleda by Louis Séguin, was preselected for the César for Best Documentary Short Film, and broadcast on France TV. His medium-length film Daniel au grand dam won the post-production support from CNC in 2023. From 2015 to 2020, he was an editor at Cahiers du cinéma. Occasionally an actor, he is also a musician-performer under the name Lonely Kid Quentin.
