Official synopsis
Summer 2013, Ariège, France, a young woman disappears. Her car was found in a high mountain parking lot, and a five-year investigation ensued. The case was finally closed for lack of conclusive results. Ten years later, in the midst of silence and oblivion, some continue to search. This film tells their story. Through the relationships that unite and separate them, a French case history unfolds from the inside.
Biography and Filmography
After studying art at the Duperré school, François Robic joined the Decoration department at La Fémis, from which he graduated in 2020, in parallel with a design course as a normalien at ENS Paris Saclay, which he completed in 2022. He is currently working on a SACRe PSL thesis at La Fémis entitled “The territory investigated: true crime in documentary cinema.” After several short films, selected at French and international festivals, he is currently completing the writing of his first feature film. Lonely Detectives is his first feature-length documentary.
