Montparnasse Bienvenüe Jeune femme
by Léonor Serraille
Special screenings 2020
Official synopsis
Upon her return to Paris, Paula finds herself single overnight. She soon becomes the emblem of a generation, unattached but endearing, filled with the energy of the city, immediately taken over by the sum of the odd jobs she has to take on to stay there. Caméra d'Or in Cannes, Montparnasse Bienvenüe was praised both for its direction and actress. No big surprise here as Laetitia Dosch propels the film towards a naturalism imbued with magic and grace. Laughter follows emotion in this contemporary portrait of a young woman looking for a place of her own.
