The programmer’s eye
The consultation place is inside the Avicenne hospital. It is an island at the back of the corridor. It is a worn out room where sick and physically marked men are gathered together, and whose pain transcribes grieves of exile. If they still come back there, it is because they do not lose hope to find here a way to stand up, to withstand the sinking. « Choosing to remain in their closed office, Alice Diop highlights the doctors' listening qualities and their lucidity concerning the limits of theirs actions. But she just makes resound the outside, the wide off-camera of poverty and violence which also forms our society. » Charlotte Ganson
