Official synopsis
Labidi is a struggling young writer. While he lives in a small room with his roommate, delivering food on his bike to survive, he meets Elisa. Caught up in a whirlwind romance, he doesn’t always make the right choices. Labidi will soon be confronted to the realities of everyday life, at the expense of his writing.
The programmer’s eye
Labidi is a modern-day romantic hero. Confronted with fanciful issues, he stands as a reminder of a Balzacian character, minus cynicism. His arrival in the capital city, his romantic encounter, the writing of a novel: the young man is going through a perpetual flight of which one feels the urgency and the sincerity. Well surrounded by formidable actors, Louda Ben Salah-Cazanas tells the story of an exorbitant Parisian life which feels realistic. Thanks to its accuracy and energy, “The World After Us” could very well become a generational film.
