Official selection 2020
Official synopsis
Combining archive documents and collages, documentary and science fiction, “The Blue Star” is a political tale in which a dark-skinned man and a light-skinned woman dare to love each other. Taking inspiration from his own family and personal experience, Valentin Noujaïm questions immigration and racism in France, a country in which his family has never found its place. Tired of being subject to rejection, the father dreams of a parallel universe where he and others can live in peace. “The Blue Star” is a docu-dream that invites us on the path to a better world.
