FRENCH PREMIERE
One night, an actor prepares to go on stage while a museum guard makes her rounds. Both of them gradually allow themselves to be permeated by these dormant institutions, on the sidelines of performances and exhibitions.
Biography and Filmography
Born in Geneva, Kayije Kagame studied theatre at ENSATT in Lyon (École Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Techniques du Théâtre) and took part in Robert Wilson’s Watermill International Summer Program Residency in Long Island, USA. She was also artist in residence at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. Creator of many performances, sound pieces, movies and installations. Her role of Rama in Saint Omer (2022) by Alice Diop marks her feature-film debut. The movie received many awards such as The Silver Lion at The Venice Film Festival and was selected in many festivals around the world. Kayije Kagame was one of the French Film Academy « Revelations » at the 2023 Cesars awards and the Switzerland Shooting Star 2023 in the European Film Promotion’s talent programme during Berlinale 2023. Night Shift, a short film she co-directed with Hugo Radi won the Silver Leopard Swiss Life for the National Competition 2023 and the first prize at the Concorto Film Festival, The Golden Donkey!

Born in Geneva, Hugo Radi graduated with a Bachelor in Film from École Cantonale d’Art de Lausanne (ECAL). His shorts Fedor (2016) and Swizzair (2015) both screened at the Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur. Alba screened at Visions du Réel in Nyon in 2019. His latest short, Initial (2022), premiered at Visions du Réel in Nyon and Côté Court, Paris. The short film Night Shift, which he co-directs with Kayije Kagame, wins the Swiss Life CH Silver Leopard for best short film in the 2023 national competition at the Locarno Film Festival, and the First Prize at the Festival Concorto FF, the Golden Donkey !
