Official synopsis
Basel Adra, a young Palestinian activist from Masafer Yatta, has been fighting against the mass expulsion of his community by the Israeli occupiers since his childhood. Basel documents the gradual erasure of Masafer Yatta as soldiers demolish family homes—one of the largest acts of forced transfer ever carried out in the occupied West Bank. He crosses paths with Yuval, an Israeli journalist who joins his struggle. For more than half a decade, they fight against the expulsion while growing closer. Their complex relationship is haunted by the extreme inequality that separates them: Basel, who lives under brutal military occupation, and Yuval, who is free and unrestricted. This film, created by a Palestinian-Israeli collective of four young activists, was conceived during the darkest and most terrifying periods in the region, as an act of creative resistance to apartheid and a search for a path toward equality and justice.
