A small survival guide for the day the feelings threatened to disappear.
The programmer’s eye
In the pine forest, the winds sweep a villa deserted by its inhabitants. Selim Bentounes surrounds himself with relatives to film the dynamics of a group of occupiers, protecting the last beating heart of a feelingless universe. The dystopian flavor of “Petit Coeur” cannot be tasted in a profusion of effects. The film elegantly sculpts a melancholy in the hollow of the setting, sound, faces and everyday scenes that are not quite what they seem. Yet, this film-parable is directed far from the others, so that the world is reborn for a moment, in an explosion of pure emotions.

Biography and Filmography
An author and a director, Selim Bentounes directed the first three trailers of the FIFIB (with Adèle Haenel, Ariane Labed and Golshifteh Farahani). He then directed “Eaux Vives” (with Solène Rigot), his first short film, presented at the Pantin Festival and winner of the Cinephile Jury Prize at the Digne Festival. He worked on a cycle of self-produced films with “Petit Cosmos”, a collective medium-length film presented at the FIFIB in the Contrebande selection and at Cinalfama in Lisbon. His next short film, “Petit Coeur”, was selected by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Film Workout. He’s currently finishing the post-production of “Méphistophélès”, his new short film, and is also developing his first feature film.
