In 1945, Saichi Ouichi, a 14-year-old Japanese boy, was among the victims of Hiroshima. In 2011, following the Fukushima nuclear disaster, radiation deposited by rain and wind on his descendents' farmland destroyed their way of life and threw them into the heart of the biggest radioactive clean-up process the world has ever seen. As the process is still going on, it is increasingly obvious that few people will relocate and that the risks of contamination have not all been eradicated from the Fukushima Prefecture...

Beth Balawick is a Massachusetts-based documentary filmmaker. She is the co-founder of the Non-Fiction Cartel, a collaborative group dedicated to short documentary films in New England. She works as a multimedia producer at the Center for Childhood Development at Harvard University.
Based in Boston, Beth Murphy has directed several films, documentaries and short films that focus on human rights and social justice. She also founded the production company Principle Pictures thanks to which she produced nearly 20 acclaimed documentaries.
