Official synopsis
As the pandemic forbade people to bury the dead together, a little girl separated from her grandfather invented a way to bid him farewell.
The programmer’s eye
Frontal proximity is first imposed, through interposed screens, in the complicit relationship between an old man and his granddaughter. Documentary in appearance, the film masterfully slips into fiction and plays on the porosity between the two, simultaneously questioning our desire to penetrate the lives of others. This hybrid short film narrates, through silences, the time of memory and nostalgia, of a mourning that one shapes on their own, alone in the territory of childhood, to survive a world from which one struggles to make sense of. — Laura Pertuy
