Peter Suschitzky
Son of the cinematographer Wolfgang Suschitzky (Get Carter), Peter Suschitzky was born and raised in London. Although passionate about music, he chose cinema, attracted by the job of his father. After studying at the IDHEC in Paris, he became clapman at the age of 19 then at 21 cameraman. He spent a year in South America and directs documentaries before becoming the youngest director of photography on a feature film at the age of 22 - on It Happened Here by Kevin Brownlow and Andrew Mollo.
Since then he has worked with well-known filmmakers around the world, on films as memorable as Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back by Irvin Kershner, The Rocky Horror Picture Show by Jim Sharman, Privilege by Peter Watkins, Leo The Last by John Boorman, Lisztomania by Ken Russell, Mars Attacks! by Tim Burton, After Earth by M. Night Shyamalan and of course all the films of David Cronenberg, from Dead Ringers until Maps to the Stars.
Among his artistic influences, he cites the films of Akira Kurosawa, Ingmar Bergman, Michelangelo Antonioni and Federico Fellini, but also the paintings of Bruegel, Goya and the German Expressionists.

Since 2014, the Erasmus + Agency supports fifib. Once more, a jury of Erasmus students will give a special rewarding a feature from the competition. Erasmus + is the European program which offers more opportunities to students as well as the key players of the cultural industry scene. It is a special opportunity to get training, to study or develop projects with people from all over the world!
